September 2008 - Great Success for Acton Food Festival The Acton Market Food Festival run smoothly despite the major twists in the weather during the three day festival on the 5th, 6th and 7th September. The Festival began with the opening speech from the Mayor of Ealing, Councillor Ian Green. He was delighted to know that the event was to continue regardless of the weather conditions. The Mayor then took time to greet the traders at Acton Market and taste some of the variety of foods from around the world. Market shoppers were also treated to wonderful tastes ranging from delicious samosas, Caribbean jerk chicken, fresh salmon sushi and much much more. Despite torrential downpours, the event was a great success as drummers, face-painters, balloon twisters, dancers and all other entertainment scheduled continued to perform keeping a jolly atmosphere all round as children lined up to have their faces painted. The Mayor found it a pleasure to be invited to Acton Market to open the festival. It was a great success for Acton Market and we look forward to organise other events for the future.
