The ‘Information Advice and Guidance’ Statement of Service

Mission

To provide information and advice to give you the best choice of learning programmes and career options, appropriate to your individual needs, ambitions and intended progression.

Our service

We provide a free and fair information and advice service on training and job search techniques.

Who is eligible?

Everyone will receive information when they call in at the centre but advice and guidance service is available only to learners enrolled on our courses.

Our commitment to you

Everybody is welcome.

Staff are friendly and able to deal with a number of issues.

We will try to help people with physical and learning difficulties to find suitable courses or jobs.

Our centre is welcoming, accessible, safe, supportive, comfortable and with good resources (books and computers).

Where English is not your first language and interpreter is not available we will make sure that we give you simple information that you can understand.

What we expect from you

You are expected to complete a registration form, and keep Action Acton Learning Resource Centre informed of any change of address, telephone or e-mail contact details and to:

• attend booked appointment or let us know if you want to cancel or rearrange.
• follow the information and advice you have been given
• use the facilities and resources courteously and in a manner that does not damage them or inconvenience other clients using the services.
• comply with our Health and Safety and Equal Opportunities policies which can be obtained from any member of staff.

Feedback/suggestions

Tell us what you think about the service. Suggestions are much appreciated. This will help us to make our service better. You can do this in the following ways.

• Fill in a questionnaire on the service. Questionnaires are given in person or posted.
• You may receive a telephone call al month after your Information and Advice session.

Complaints procedure

If you are not happy with our service we want to hear from you. We will try to deal with all complaints as quickly as possible. To make a complaint please contact the Resource Centre Manager – Marcin Lewandowski (020 8896 2312), if this is inappropriate, contact Richard Hobday at Action Acton, Crown St (020 8993 9605). 

Confidentiality

The service complies with all requirements of the Data Protection Act 1998. We, at all times, safeguard the confidentiality and privacy of our clients.  No information will be given to any third parties without prior consent of the client.
