‘Promoting economic and community regeneration’

in Acton, Ealing and surrounding Boroughs

ACTION ACTON successfully managed an £11 million government funded Single Regeneration Budget (SRB) programme for 4 years until March 2004.

ACTION ACTON is a REGISTERED CHARITY, and VOLUNTARY BODY delivering a wide range of community, economic and business initiatives.

ACTION ACTON is based in Crown Street, Acton. Action Acton also runs the Learning Resource Centre and TALLO centre both based on South Acton estate.

 

WHAT DOES ACTION ACTON DO?

CURRENT PROJECTS  INCLUDE:

  • Exodus Project — helping offenders into work — funded by European EQUAL ESF funds, this project currently
    works with offenders in Ealing, Hammersmith and Fulham.
  • Learning Resource Centre — providing FREE tuition and support on reading, writing, English language and maths. LSC Contract.
  • Tallo Centre— providing advice and support to Somali and other refugee communities. Funded by Big Lottery and Home Office
  • Cement Project— helping individuals into training and work in the construction industry - this project is funded by European EQUAL ESF funds.
  • BOSS Contract — helping unemployed individuals into employment in the construction industry—funded by Brent Building One Stop Shop (LDA)
  • Support to Business — helping support ACTON BUSINESS FORUM 
  • Consulting with Businesses in Acton on setting up a BUSINESS IMPROVEMENT DISTRICT (BID) —
    Providing network and training seminars for businesses in Acton
  • Providing training for individuals who want to set up in business (covers all of Ealing)
  • Acton ‘Liveability’ Programme—working with Ealing Council and other partners on delivering the Liveability programme to improve
    Acton town centre and surrounding areas. This includes organising the successful Markets
  • Market and Business Support funded by LDA
  • Meganexus Business Improvement Network Project — in partnership with UCL and Islington Enterprise Agency. LDA funded
  • Creative and Media, Business Incubator Unit — ‘the Old Doughnut Factory’-converting Warple Mews premises into business incubator units
    - LDA and ERDF Funded.
  • Safer Neighbourhoods and Community Safety Projects — working with the 3 Police Safer Neighbourhood ward teams
    in Acton and with the Safer Ealing Partnership and voluntary sector groups.
